Our customer, a global player in the transportation industry, was challenged by a bouquet of tools and procedures when it came to planning activities due to multiple acquisitions. Looking into production planning we figured out that the headquarter was neither updated on production schedules nor on capacity load by the individual plants on a regular basis. Not even the format, in which the information was provided if so, was in a consistent format. As a consequence the company accumulated a lot of costs topped by a huge amount of penalties caused by a poor delivery capacity.

Through the introduction of proper processes and information flow as well as the consolidation of the tool landscape we helped to reduce the costs significantly. The introduction of the operations management idea also launched a tight cooperation between production and sales. In this way penalties caused by delivery failures has been nearly eliminated.
