A German mid-size company was suffering of high costs and a lack of internal communication. Through an evaluation of the as-is state we figured out that only a few business processes were defined, but nobody was following them. Every individual was complaining about the absence of internal communication, first. Essential positions were either not provided with backup or not even manned. With one word Operations Management was missing all over.

We took action by filing an improvement portfolio in operational processes embedded in the existing infrastructure and in a newly proposed system of play for the staff. Following our proposal we introduced an Enterprise Operating System serving as an enabler for the internal process management. As temporarily members of the team we jointly developed the required procedures, implemented related processes and specified the needs for tool support. We started the implementation first in an analogue way in order to test their efficiency and effectivity. Then we automated them through a selected technology. Efficiency was also highly gained by the establishment of a multi-project management.

Within two years we were reducing the costs by a factor of two and facilitating the rise in revenue by a factor of 5. At the same time we have reduced the loss of valuable staff and raised a team culture.
